ADA and Water Infiltration

Haight Davis & Associates Inc. was hired by a Homeowner in Fayette County, Georgia to evaluate water infiltration in the basement of a residential home. The area was designed to accommodate the 24-hour care needs of the Homeowner’s son, a quadriplegic.  Many other companies had attempted the repairs without a proper evaluation and design. None of these repair efforts were successful.

In 2017, HDA evaluated the water infiltration problems and designed a solution which incorporated numerous Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance modifications.  HDA managed the construction of the project, which lasted over a year.

Topographic changes and the addition of a drainage system around the perimeter of the home was required to fix the water infiltration problem. The driveway was extended and a retaining wall put in place to ensure that water was not coming up to the front door and into the house.

Haight Davis and Associates, Inc. was able to design and over see the construction of repairs that provided a safe and clean environment for the Homeowner and her son.
